5 Things to ask during your wedding venue tour

Recently engaged? You’re of course going to make a Pinterest Board as your first planning step. Then finding your perfect Colorado wedding venue will come next. To make sure that you are selecting the venue of your dreams, it is really important to tour a few venues and know how to ask the right questions. At Bella Sera Event Center, we understand the importance of creating an unforgettable experience that is personal for the two of you. Too many weddings are, sorry to say “boring”, and just follow the same DJ timeline of events. If you’re wanting a unique experience that is unlike any other wedding you’ve attended, it’s important to read venue reviews and listen to what the brides say about the fun they had, how personal it was, the experience they had, and what their guests may have said. These memories and feelings are the “outcomes” and the experience you got from all of your planning. Every venue is going to be beautiful in it’s own way, but it’s how you felt on that day that matters most.

These are five questions we recommend that you ask during your venue tours:

.5 Things to ask during your wedding venue tour

How many guests can the venue accommodate comfortably, and without removing tables for dancing?

When searching for the perfect Colorado wedding venue, first, you must consider the number of guests you plan to invite. Asking about the maximum capacity and viewing photos of what the space looks like when at the maximum capacity is very helpful.  Some venues may have a specific maximum capacity or additional fees based on the size of your guest list. Asking this question early on will help ensure you select a venue that fits within your budget and meets your needs for comfortability, dancing, and any performances you may want to include.

At The Bella Sera Event Center we can accommodate up to 250 guests. If dancing is a huge priority to you and your guests, you’ll be happy to know our venue has a huge dance floor that does not require you to tear down any tables or move your head table to the side. It is not centered in the middle of all of the dinner tables, therefore guests don’t feel inhibited to dance.

What are the venue’s inclusions & amenities

It’s important to ask what is included in each wedding package and what vendors you can bring in of your own. Asking about any additional amenities available will give you an idea of what the venue can offer and how it can help make your wedding a memorable experience. Sometimes it may be beneficial to choose a middle package, and then add on any upgrades. This way if you don’t necessarily want all of the higher end amentities, you can just add on a few you do want. Bella Sera’s all-inclusive packages range from very affordable to very luxurious.

What dates are available, and are there months or nights of the week that are more affordable?

The next question to ask is about availability, most affordable months and nights of the week,  and the booking process. How soon do you need to book the venue? What’s the deposit and cancellation policy? Knowing this information will allow you to determine if the venue is available for your desired date and what the process looks like to reserve it.

At Bella Sera Event Center, we recommend if you want a Saturday to  book your event as soon as possible to ensure your desired date is available.

Do your preferred vendors have their own professional companies, or are they in-house staff?

When selecting a venue, we suggest making sure the preferred vendors in their packages are highly screened professional companies who also work outside of the venue for other weddings. The top two complaints we have unfortunately heard over the past 20 years, during a wedding venue tour, is that an in-house DJ, a friend DJ, or a friend or cheap photographer ruined a wedding they attended.

At Bella Sera, we require our professional vendors to go through a thorough screening to ensure their quality of service, values, and passion for weddings match ours. They are an extension of The Bella Sera, and we sleep well at night knowing you will love their service. Our pros. We also believe in the importance of flexibility with clients, so they can choose the best vendors for their needs. Many cultures prefer their own Emcee and native language vendors, and this is never a problem. However, if you’re just trying to save money, it’s really important to remember you get what you pay for. We have worked with our team of expert photographers, DJ’s, cake bakers, and others to know the quality you are going to receive. This will reduce so much stress and disappointment, and take the guesswork out of “what you’re going to get” on your wedding day.

Are there any additional fees, restrictions, or limitations?

Finally, ask if  there extra charges that will be added on at the end like tax, fee for servers, and gratuity. Ask the venue to calculate those for you in advance, as gratuity and server fees can add on thousands of dollars to your quote that you may not have anticipated when you first sign a contract. All of the package prices at The Bella Sera include tax, gratuity and server fees.

Our all-inclusive packages include up to 9 hours of consecutive venue time. However, the greatest value is that we decorate everything for you before you arrive, and we do all the clean up after you remove all of your items at the end of the night. You will choose all of your décor with your personal designer, and then let us wow you when you arrive.

At The Bella Sera we pride ourselves on being a premiere Colorado wedding ceremony and reception venue that has been family owned for 20 years. Our staff is committed to helping you create the wedding of your dreams and will strive to make sure it’s an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
