8 Interactive Ideas to Engage Wedding Guests

Hoping for a wedding that’s memorable, fun and engaging for your guests? Not sure where to start with your wedding planning ideas? Well, you’ve come to the right place for help! Creating weddings for our couples that result in guests saying “now your wedding was fun”, long after it’s over, is what motivates our team. We’re an all-inclusive venue in Colorado and our pros are constantly perfecting how creative ideas impact the guest experience, how our wedding timelines  flow, and how we execute every detail our couples dream about. We don’t like boring weddings, and we know you don’t either. Check out these fun and engaging ideas we implement at our Denver Wedding Venue.

And yes…we do still love the “Shoe Game”, although we left it off this list for now.

Hire a talented magician

We love it when talented magician Brandon Parker, who has been a preferred partner for years at Bella Sera Event Center, comes and entertains our clients and their guests. Seen here at Sydney and Easton’s wedding, he had everyone laughing, dropping their jaws in amazement, and talking about his performance forever. You’re probably thinking a magician would be a little boring or out of place at a wedding, but just look at the faces of the guests at our weddings. Does this look like they’re bored?

8 Interactive Ideas to Engage Wedding Guests

.

Display an Audio Guest Book Telephone

Replace the traditional guest book with something more creative and trendy like a rotary phone that lets your guests leave a message for you on your wedding day. We’ve seen and heard lots of laughing, guests competing over the funnier messages they leave, and joy just because it’s different.

Create Wedding Guest Photo Challenges

Create a list of photo challenges for your wedding guests to complete throughout the event (e.g., “Take a selfie with the bride,” “Capture the best dance move”). Display the challenges on cards at each table and then create a wedding hashtag for guests to upload and share the photos they took. Offer prizes for “The winners” in each category. Not only is this fun and interactive for the guests, but you’re guaranteed to get some killer candid shots of your wedding celebration that you may not have gotten otherwise.

.

Offer an Interactive Signature Drink Station

Offer a creative “Signature drink station” where guests can experience something unique and fun that they’ve never seen or tasted before. Our Smoking Drink Station at Bella Sera Event Center is one of our “specialty experiences” that always wow guests. Allow your guests to add their own creative drink sticks or cocktail garnishes. This not only provides entertainment but is sure to get your guests to post on their Tik Tok or Instagram bragging about how cool your wedding is!

Feature a Caricature Artist for your Wedding Guests

One of our favorite “Specialty Experiences” we offer at our weddings is the amazing gift of laughter and a keepsake from our preferred caricature artist Mark Hall. He kicks off the cocktail hour with lots of laughs and creates such anticipation from all of the guests as they await their final drawing…sometimes in fear of what they will look like.

Incorporate  Line Dances

Your wedding reception is a chance for you and your guests to cut loose and celebrate this joyous occasion. But how can you get your guests up and moving? Consider line dances strategically played throughout the night like Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha slide, Wobble Baby, or one of our favorites “Follow the Leader” by Soca Boys. Get your wild Maid of Honor or Best Man to start the line, and take your guests all around the venue. Hand out LED Foam Sticks at just the right time to elevate the dancing or start a “freestyle circle” and encourage everyone to take turns showing off their moves in the center of the ring.

.

Hire a Live Wedding Painting Artist

Hire a live wedding painting artist to create a personalized piece of artwork for you or your guests. This provides entertainment for all of the guests as they watch the onsite artist capture the complete emotion and detail of your love story “live” on your wedding day. This always creates a crowd who wants to linger around to see the finished product. Check out this talented Denver artist Olivia Andruss, who has painted several wedding couples at our venue; see the finished product of Jennifer and Dominik’s wedding on her gallery page.

Set out Lawn Games

If you’re having an outdoor wedding, set up various lawn games like cornhole, giant Jenga, or croquet. These games are great for keeping guests entertained during cocktail hour.

By incorporating interactive elements into your wedding, you’ll create an unforgettable experience for both you and your guests. Remember, the key is to choose activities that reflect your personality as a couple and fit within the overall theme and atmosphere of your special day. We want this to truly be “your wedding” and “your way”.  Not all of these ideas are for everyone, that’s why we have so much more up our sleeves, and offer customization within all of our all-inclusive Wedding Packages.
