A Fairytale Wedding Celebration………

When you picture a bubbly, adorable, fun and incredibly sweet bride who exudes pure excitement and joy about her wedding and marrying her best friend, you might just see Lauren.  Their entire wedding celebration was full of laughter, pranks, touching moments, romance, family, friends, and true love toward one another.  They wanted everyone to see that they could be themselves and truly enjoy every moment of their day in their own style, and this is what they did.  Their wedding was not only beautiful, but it was original and so much fun, and there was never a dull moment. One memory sums it all up…Lauren said “When my Dad walked me down the aisle, and I saw Chris for the first time, I felt like we were the only three people in the room. I was bawling and didn’t even notice anyone else.”

Lauren is very close to her parents, and on the morning of her wedding, her Dad made her favorite breakfast of Mickey Mouse shaped waffles from their waffle iron he had used since she was a little girl. Her Mom was involved in every step of the planning, and her Aunts and Uncles helped in so many ways. It was truly a family celebration. Chris being the oldest sibling of 7, also had lots of family and friends involved.

Lauren and Chris were married at The Bella Sera in an elegant ceremony that was personalized in every way to express their love for each other, as well as their incredible story and personalities. The wedding day started off with a prayer, as they held hands around a wall, so as to not see each other before the ceremony.  They made promises of being by each other’s side and never giving up, snuggling on the sad days and always being there for each other.  When Chris said he would see her soon, Lauren responded with “I will be the one in white dress.” How cute is that?

Lauren is quiet, sweet and quirky and Chris is the party guy on campus who is known as “the Rock” because of his similarity in appearance.  This combination of personalities has kept Lauren and Chris together for 5 years and made for a beautiful fairytale relationship full of fun and laughter. The theme of their wedding was an enchanted fairytale.  Even though, like most couples, they will admit their relationship was not always perfect it had a fairytale ending.

The bride entered to “Still the One” by Shania Twain in a magnificent ballroom gown, just like a princess.  On her bouquet were charms for the loved ones that she or Chris had lost.  One for Chris’s father who passed away when Chris was a child and another for her friend Jenny who passed away in college; Jenny’s mother wore a matching charm on her corsage.  While Lauren and Chris had a traditional ceremony it wouldn’t be like them not to throw some personality into the mix.  They read love letters to each other with a promise to never be bored, which could never be said better than by reading a few quotes from the movie “The Hangover.”  For the exit the couple choreographed a fun dance to “You’re Still The One” as they danced back down the aisle, much to the delight of their guests.

The reception was a surprise to everyone with the beautiful enchanted forest ambiance and fairytale theme.  It took several décor meetings to get everything perfect.  Fairy berry lights were hung from the ceiling to give a starry night look, complete with green lighting to look like a forest.  Black linens with purple accents and a combination of tall forest like centerpieces and shorter romantic centerpieces filled with candles gave the reception an enchanted feel.  Even the cake looked like something out of a fairy tale, complete with a tiny Tinkerbelle hidden on the backside of the cake that only the bride and groom saw upon cutting their cake.  The cake topper was custom designed by Lauren. It was two bobble head dolls that were exact images of both Lauren and Chris. They then had their cake put on the state of Texas to signify Texas, since they had met at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant.

Lauren changed into a second stunning gown and surprised Chris on the winding Grand Staircase at Bella Sera. He was in awe.  Chris and his groomsmen had spent hours practicing a song and dance routine to New Kids on the Block “Summertime,” for Lauren. They blindfolded her, and then all of them came down the stairs with bear chests and vests as they serenaded her. The crowd went wild, and Lauren could not stop laughing. It was so much fun. Then Lauren got Chris back with her bag of tricks for the garter removal. She had everything but the kitchen sink under her dress. Chris’s favorite surprise was when he found a Denver Broncos flag under her dress and his buddies went crazy.

A wedding shows everyone who you are as a couple and this wedding was full of love, laughter, pranks and surprises.  It was the kind of celebration every couple dreams about.

From the Bride…

We found the Bella Sera when attending another event there previously, and we fell in love with the venue and the staff beginning with Kaylene, then Sari, and then Elisabeth and John. We had three design sessions with Elisabeth and Chris was a trooper the whole time.; she never made us feel that it was a problem when we kept changing our minds on décor. Elisabeth was so compassionate and thoughtful, and she was able to take what I wasn’t able to express, and make my dreams into reality. I loved how we were able to make the décor and ambiance different in the ceremony room from the décor in the reception room. The reception was everything I imagined with the enchanted forest feel, twinkly lights everywhere, candles, fairy berries and green lighting. It was magical. It was so much more than we ever thought we could afford on our salaries. We wanted our wedding to be something that other people compared theirs against, and we felt we accomplished that and more. This was the one day we got to be special, and the center of attention,  and I got to wear the “white dress”, and experience everyone being happy for us. Every bride and groom should feel this way on their wedding day.
