Our Love Story
Daniel and I met at a nearby hangout in town in early 2008. His smile captured my heart right away. We grew closer as we realized we lived in the same apartment complex. We had so much in common, both were living with our best friends as roommates. Daniel wasn’t the only one I fell in love with, when I met my stepson Nathaniel just 6 months old; it was again love at first sight.
On Christmas 2010, Daniel proposed while opening gifts with my parents and older brother. I was still very surprised because at that moment I realized he wasn’t kidding when he said, “someday I will make you my wife” and that day will be very soon. I was truly honored to say “yes.”
How We Personalized Our Wedding at Bella Sera
The Model T classic that we drove away in after the wedding ceremony was a gift from Daniel’s parents. They purchased it old and beat up and were able to have running and looking new by our wedding. It was truly special and was so thankful for such a wonderful gift. Daniels parents also brought the birdseed for the to throw after the ceremony as this is a family tradition.
Our guests were absolutely amazed with how beautiful the wedding was. Many guests greeted us and would say how “Grande” and “Perfect” your wedding is. They would say, “Your wedding is by far the best wedding we have ever been to.” The venue was so warm and comforting all of our guests were able to enjoy themselves.
Say Yes to The Dress
Where do I start? I could say I went in open minded, but had my heart set on a certain look and style. The feeling I got when I put on “the dress” was so amazing that I didn’t want to take it off. I decided on a simple modern dress but gave it an over-the top look with my accessories. I was able to give my dress two different looks, “Ceremony” and “Reception” by only changing out my accessories. That flexibility is what made my dress perfect, and was exactly what I wanted. The designer of my dress was Martina Liana, found my dress at a bridal boutique Anna be’. I chose my reception hairpiece from there as well, designed by Sara Gabriel. The most special part about picking my dress was having my friends and family there to experience it with me, and to help me.
Our Fondest Memory of our Wedding Day
The Bella Sera has unique Romeo and Juliet balconies for couples to use in a multiple of ways to delight their guests with entertainers, unique entrances and the bouquet toss. Daniel and I were announced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Trujillo as we were dramatically announced and walked out onto the balcony for our Grand Entrance. Looking down off the balcony at over 250 of our friends and family was so amazing, and hearing their cheers during a standing ovation, was unforgettable.
Daniel and I wanted our guests to not only have a good time, but we wanted them to have a joyful time of laughter. Comedian Jimmy Abeyta did just that after dinnertime. This was important to us because we both have that funny cousin or uncle in our family always telling jokes at gatherings. We knew a comedian on our special day was a must.
An Incredible Planning Experience
The Design Session that Bella Sera includes in their Wedding Package with owner Elisabeth was one the best experiences of our planning. I enjoy decorating and coordinating, but for the wedding I wanted things to be stress free and leave it up to Bella Sera. It was such a neat experience to design the wedding, but not have to do all the work. The Bella Sera had so many options and had up to date décor, which made it very easy to choose décor that matched my style. Diamonds and pearls was the look I wanted for the wedding and Bella Sera had it all.
A Magnificent Wedding Cake
Our Cake was made by “A Cake Occasion” in Thornton, CO. They did such a great job on my design and colors on the cake. They delivered it to the venue at dinnertime and Bella Sera’s staff set it up around the décor I had chosen for the cake table at the Design Session.
Flowers for the bouquets were designed and put together by my Matron of honor Janele Santistevan. She is extremely talented in design and flower arrangements. I knew what flowers and colors I wanted, and Janele was able to design them perfectly.
Why Bella Sera?
The main reason we chose Bella Sera was not only because of how beautiful the venue was, but also after our meetings with Elisabeth, we knew she was perfect to get the job done of creating the wedding we were dreaming about. We shared a lot of same visions with Elisabeth, and she understood exactly what we wanted. Also after meeting with her husband John, we learned how kind and passionate he was which also gave us the confidence we had made the perfect choice in venues.
